The Ohio Department of Medicaid requires that any newborn Medicaid patient have a Newborn Indicator turned on in their GEOH profile. Enabling the Newborn Indicator in a client's GEOH profile disables the Medicaid ID field, and sends the EVV transmission with a Newborn Indicator instead of the Medicaid ID.
Newborns will not have a Medicaid ID, however, their EVV data is still required for agency reimbursement.
